1. Who we are and who is accountable
This website is operated by Hoom Financial Inc. (“Hoom,” “we,” “us,” “our”), a company incorporated in Canada and based in Ontario. Hoom is a financial technology company, not a bank. This site is currently a pre-launch website for sharing information and collecting waitlist registrations.
Hoom is accountable for the personal information under its control. We have designated an individual responsible for our compliance with this policy and with Canadian privacy law, who can be reached at privacy@gethoom.ca.

2. What this policy covers
This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this waitlist website. It does not cover the Hoom prepaid card or app, which are not yet available. When Hoom launches, we will publish a full privacy policy covering those products, and any customer relationship will be governed by that policy with fresh, specific consent at that time.
3. What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect:
- Your email address, which you provide.
- If you use a referral link, a referral identifier so we can credit the person who referred you.
- Basic, non-identifying usage information (such as general analytics about how the site is used).
We do not ask for or collect financial information, government identifiers, or sensitive personal information through this waitlist.
4. Why we collect it and how we use it
We use the information you provide to:
- Add you to the Hoom waitlist and tell you when Hoom launches;
- Send you occasional updates about Hoom’s progress (only if you have consented — see below);
- Operate any referral mechanic on the waitlist;
- Understand and improve how our website performs.
We use your information only for the purposes described above, or for purposes to which you later consent or that are permitted or required by law.
5. Your consent
We collect, use, and disclose your personal information with your consent. When you join the waitlist and check the consent box on our sign-up form, you consent to receiving launch and progress updates from Hoom by email. You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by contacting us at privacy@gethoom.ca. Withdrawing consent will remove you from our waitlist communications and may mean we can no longer keep you on the waitlist.
6. Cookies and analytics
This website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to understand, in aggregate, how it is used. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. We do not use this information to identify you personally.
7. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the waitlist (for example, our email-delivery and analytics providers), who are permitted to use it only to provide those services to us and are required to protect it.
8. Information stored outside Canada
Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Where that is the case, the information may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement, and authorities of those jurisdictions under their laws. Hoom remains accountable for personal information that we transfer to a service provider for processing, and we use contractual and other means to require a comparable level of protection while the information is being processed on our behalf.
9. How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the limited information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take protecting your information seriously.
10. How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist information only for as long as we need it for the waitlist purposes described above — that is, until Hoom launches, until you ask us to remove it, or until you withdraw consent, whichever comes first — after which we securely delete or de-identify it. Becoming a Hoom customer at launch will be governed by our full product privacy policy and fresh consent; this waitlist policy does not by itself carry your information into a customer relationship.
11. Your rights
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to withdraw your consent. To make any of these requests, contact us at privacy@gethoom.ca. We will respond within the timeframes required by law.
12. Children
This waitlist is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority in their province or territory of residence. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Hoom develops. If we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify waitlist members.
14. Contact us and how to complain
For any privacy question or request, contact us at privacy@gethoom.ca. If you are not satisfied with our response, you also have the right to contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
